In the few weeks since the school shooting it had taken a lot of time to process what ha happened. But eventually the student body moved on, back to bitching about each other behind everyone's backs, though NO one saw this coming. Maya had woken up and everything was as it should be…

The news was so sudden: it wasn't supposed to be happening till June, but the day had come:

"And here are the students who shall be running for Junior Class president: Felix Everest…" Ms. Daniels said about as unenthusiastically, as a majority of the class either groaned or whooped with excitement.

Please, please let me be one of them… Matt thought to himself, waiting in anticipation. He wanted to do something with his life, and he wanted to be known as someone other than Maya's ex-boyfriend or Allison's current sex toy.

"…Alejandro Rodriguez." Of course Alex was announced. He was basically the most popular guy in school, and the coach of his football team to boot.

"…Matthew Dales." There it was, he needed this more than anyone else did. No way were Alex and Felix getting in his way.

"And finally; Alison Spears. Congratulations to all of those who are in the running and Campaigns are to start next year and …wait hold: what do you mean I wasn't supposed to announce them till next year? Why do we even hold Junior Class President Election? What do you mean the microphone is still on…?" Ms. Daniels said not realizing the microphone was still one. She was such a classy lady, well usually but this was just messy.

"Matty-kins?" Alison said innocently.

"You're not mad about running against each other are you?"

"Good, now drop out."

"Because…I am trying to rebuild my Miss Fame Knock Off Dollar Store Empire Brand Realness and you beating me because you finally decided to stop being the male Rachel Berry and start trying to be independent from Mulannabe and me is getting in the way of my plans to turn this school into an iron-fisted dictator ship that worships the very ground I walk on…I'm Alison Jean and I need to win to consolidate my grip on this school's fragile and constant wavering social climate, and you dropping out would make it that much easier to destroy the other two by rigging the competition and blackmailing them into withdrawl…"

"Why not?"

"Alison, I really like you: but I'm done being a little toy that people can use and throw away. I need this more than you…I need to get out of here and show all those kids I'm taking care of that there is another place that isn't here…Also because Kyle dared me to run and if I win, that kid is gonna take me on an all-inclusive Vacation to the Bahamas…" Matt said as Alison pouted. Matt knew he was never going to hear the end of this. Realizing she hadn't won yet, Alison stalked off, fuming with rage that Matt wasn't just another boy who acted like putty in her hands.

Matt knew he was in trouble: he needed a vice president to run with. Who would he pick? Just then, he saw Nathan, Sydney, Maya and Zach walking together to class and he got an idea.

Kyle hated hospitals. There were so many bad memories in them and he never wanted to go into one ever again. But he was only there because Pearl requested his presence. And then he saw them: the people he hated most in this world and the next, his parents and his sister, Margot.

He felt his spine tingle and his world began spinning out of control. He hadn't seen his mum and dad since they disowned him. He wasn't going to let them see him cry. Not ever again, they couldn't touch them…

"Family only." Eugene said sternly to his estranged son. But Pearl was having none of her son-in law's bullshit. Kyle had never seen her this frail, she was still his beautiful grandmother,

"Eugene…I invited him. Come in mijn kleinsoon. Now, I wanted one last visit from my family and this time together. Eugene and Elizabeth, the way you have treated my grandson is the most appalling thing I have ever seen, and Margot, I expected more from you as his older sister. This family has been through too much tragedy to carry on this way, and it is my greatest wish for the four of you to reunite upon my death."

Eugene, Buffy and Margot were so offended by this they stormed off. Pearl was spilling too much T for them to take. Kyle smiled at this, and then he looked back at her.

"Billy, did you bring the movie you said you'd bring?" She asked, smiling back at her grandson. She used the old nickname she gave him when he was 3 years old. It made him smile so hard.

"Of course" Kyle said, pulling out a VHS tape titled Finding Neverland on it. It was Their movie. It was the happiest Kyle had felt in a while, since New Years Eve when him and Maya reconciled.

"Kyle, thank you for this amazing day…" Pearl said wiping she said kissing his hands.

"I'll see you tomorrow Oma, after school."

"I'll see you in the skies, sweet one. You know where to find me in your dreams…"

"The second star to the right, and straight on till morning." He said seeing her smile, looking more beautiful than ever.

"Always." She said before Kyle left. As he did he felt a weight lift off of him. He genuinely felt like he was getting better.

Sydney Walsh was so much better than she was last year. She was glad her and Andres were just friends. She was happy her friendships with Alison, Becca and Angelika were on track and that she was performing fairly well in school. And then she saw the new guy. He was pretty good looking, but had a smug face that was similar to Kyle's.

"Hey…" He said to her. As soon as he did, she knew he was obviously gay. But she has to admit that the attention towards her was very flattering.

"What do you want new boy?"

"I was wondering if the prettiest girl in school would be able to show me what room English with Miss. Florentine was…" He asked. "Name's Jason Fakénom."

"Sydney. Lucky for you, I'm also in that class. It's in Hallway B, room 205, I'll show you around." She said walking off while he was smiling, when her back was to him; it faded and he rolled his eyes.

"So, where did you transfer from?"

"Sister Mary of Perpetual Pettiness Catholic High School for Wayward Teens."

"Well here you are. 205; Miss. Florentine's class."

"Thanks…Sydney, right?"

"Yep… that's me." She said. This Jason kid was totally cool and so not suspicious at all.

At Lunch, the Note-Worthy all gathered at their table. It had been a regular, boring morning, as usual. Alison and Becca were trying their hardest not to mock Maya on her new clothes; Joe was braiding Lily's hair while Zach and Nathan were bickering about who was the better dancer.

Meanwhile Kyle and Joe were walking with each other to the lunch table. They hadn't had a proper conversation in a few months, since Invitationals or something like that…

"So, how're things? How's Pearl?"

"She's good. I saw her last night. I know she's not going to get any better, but she's here now. I'm almost prepared for her going in a few months…"

"That's good… Why didn't you tell us about her?" Joe asked but Kyle quickly changed the subject.

"How're you, since the shit with Zach and Rick?"

"Holding in there…"

"Well, this summer, if you aren't already doing anything: I was thinking You, Lily and I should head up to my grandmother's Beach House in the Hamptons…" Kyle said as Joe looked at him flabbergasted. "What's that look on your face for?"

"Sometimes I forget how rich your family is…"

"I mean, we can invite other people too. I'm planning on spending the whole summer up there. I just know you were so excited to go to New York for New Years Eve…"

"Can I think about it?"

"Dude, there's no rush…"

"Cool. Sounds good." Joe said as him and Kyle took their seats at the lunch.

"Yeah Kyle, what's up sweetie?"

"I was wondering if it would be okay if I stayed with Maya tonight? It's just that we haven't spent any time together since she has gotten out of the Hospital and I really need to spend some time with her…"

"You've been so great lately, you should spend time with your friends…"

"Thanks Jessica…you're the best mom ever."

Jessica felt herself blush at this. Kyle hadn't said the word 'mom' except when talking about his own mother, since he had moved in to live with her. Jessica didn't expect to fall in love with Kyle as a second son, but he really was to her. Her family was complete with Lily and Kyle coming into her life, in the most unexpected way.

Kyle left just before Joe and Lily got home from the mall with Alex behind them. When Lily and Alex went to her room, Jessica told them to keep the door open.

Her life was filled with a perfect chaos that she never knew she needed. When it was just her and Joe, it was perfect. Joe was always rambunctious and kept her busy, but looking after and adopting Lily gave her some balance, and then when Kyle came to live with them, it felt like the four of them were meant to be a family together. One thing Jessica Sweeting would never get used to was how hard it would be having three teenagers all the same age living in the same house. It was like living with three slobs. Kyle in particular was messy as hell, and she loved every second of it.

She then heard the phone ring.

"Is this the Sweeting Residence?"

"It is. Who may I ask is asking for him?"

"This is Kyle's mother... I have some news and while I don't want anything to do with him, I thought he should know…" As Buffy spoke the news, Jessica felt herself drop the phone in her hands.

"Mom?" Joe asked looking confused and concerned. Jessica rushed out the door grabbing her purse and a light jacket. Kyle still didn't know, and he had to hear it from her… Jessica would not let that woman near tell him. Kyle didn't need that, not now, not at a time like this. She was his mother even if she wasn't legally so, she was more of a mother to him than his actual mother ever could be.

Kyle and Maya were sitting in her room, he was drinking an iced Tea out of a pink sparkly Spider-Girl mug. It had been so long since they had had a 'girls' night, just the two of them.

"Maya, I don't want to watch The Avengers… we've already seen it ten times together…"

"I am not watching another Judy Garland musical…"

"She's an American Treasure…"

"And her movies are super old and a little boring." Kyle gasped at this, feigning being insulted.

"I got a gay gasp out of you…my mission in life is complete." Maya said as Kyle threw a pillow at her head.

The night after that was bliss. It was actual perfection. Nothing could go wrong…

"Kyle, Ms. Sweeting is at the door for you…" Lola said from up the stairs. Kyle was confused as to why she was there when he said he was staying at Maya's place.

"Kyle…I have something to tell you." She said, as Joe and Lily were in the car waiting for him.

"I should really get back to Maya…"

"Kyle, I already told Mrs. Dumas that you're coming home."

"Whatever you can tell me you can tell me and then let me go back to stay with my friend like I promised I would tonight…"

"It's about Pearl…" Jessica said as Kyle blacked out. He saw her talking, he saw Maya hold her hand to her open mouth in a gasp, but he couldn't hear a word Dr. Sweeting was saying. This wasn't happening…it couldn't be happening. It wasn't supposed to be happening right now… it was only March.

"Kyle?" Jessica said as Kyle came to it.

"Huh?" Kyle said, his eyes were puffy but there was no sign of tears in his eyes.

"Did you hear me?" Kyle nodded. He knew what she was saying even if he all but blacked out.

"It was sudden, she fell asleep and never woke up. Kyle, I think you should come be with family…" Kyle's mind snapped at this. He suddenly began to feel an anger build up in him. Jessica, Lily, Maya, Joe, the rest of the Note-Worthy: sure they were his friends and people who cared about him, but they weren't family. The closest thing to family he had was Lily, but she didn't know Pearl at all.

"What family?" He simply said before leaving to go back to Maya's room.

"I'll try to talk to him, Jessica…" Maya said, apologizing for something she had no control over. But she knew Kyle better than anyone and knew that it was only a matter of time before he realized that they were there for him, and that he did have a family; but she was terrified of how her best friend would reach that point.

It had been about a day since Matt had chosen Zach to be his potential Vice President and to tell the truth, Matt never meant to have Zach as his running mate. He actually meant to ask Maya, but it turns out she's running with Alison; because that made total sense.

"You didn't want to ask me to be your Vice did you?" Zach said, sitting across from Matt at the library. Maya, Kyle and Lily were supposed to meet them later. Matt felt awkward.

"Look, Zach it's not that I don't like you it's just…"

"You wanted to ask Maya."

"Exactly…No offence."

"It's fine, I get it…I mean, it hurts but now you got me on your side…"

"Well, well, well Dales, I didn't realize the losers were also sitting at the lady's table." Felix sneered. He always seemed to show up out of nowhere.

"Back off Felix. No one cares about you…"

"I'd watch my mouth if I were you: I don't want to have to fight dirty."

"You already do, Everest." Alex said from behind them. Lily and Joe were by his side, figures that Joe would be his Vice.

"Fifty foot radius, Alex…remember? You and that thing need to stay at least 50 feet away from me at all times."

"You need to learn how to read, Felix… or did Daddy forget to tell you that the restraining order was never filed…" Joe sneered.

"You fags better enjoy that little orgy club while you can. When I become president, it'll be the first thing to go…" Felix sneered as he stalked off, looking almost like Bigfoot while doing it. Joe held out a middle finger flashing it to him when left

"Asshole. So Zach…I see you're running with Matt…" Joe said awkwardly.

"Yeah." Zach said after an awkward pause. "And you're running with Alex?"

"Yeah." Joe said.

"Wow you two need to just fuck already and then drop out so that Maya and I can win…" Alison said bluntly before walking away.

"Maya, remind me again why you're running for Vice Junior Class President? With Alison of all people…"

"Maya, I need someone to run with me as my Vice and I have landed on you. What better way to show these basic ass bitches who really runs this school than teaming up with one of my arch nemeses."

"I can think of so many better options…"

"Shame, I guess you want these to leak to the public…"

"What are you talking about?"

"These very embarrassing text you've sent to my traitorous boyfriend. Imagine the scan…."

"Calm down Shonda Rimes. I'll run with you."

"Sweet, I'll text you the deets on how I'm going to destroy the rest of the competition later." She said.

"I just decided it was the best way to bury the hatchet…why do you ask Matt?"

"No reason…has anyone seen Kyle? I was hoping he'd be my campaign manager."

"And why would I do that?" Kyle said from behind them all. He looked awful, like he hadn't gotten any sleep for the last 48 hours, which was true.

"Well, I thought we were close, you know?"

"Ask me some other time, like I don't know… Next year? You know…when the election is ACTUALLY TAKING PLACE." He said emphasizing on the last bit.

"Kyle are you okay?" Lily asked, knowing full well he wasn't.

"Do I look okay? I just need to focus on shit right now. I don't have time for planning for future elections that might not even end up happening…" Kyle said stalking off.

"Kyle…" Maya said running after him. She gave the others still there a worried look.

"What's with him?" Alex said.

"His grandmother just died asshole." Joe said, then looking over to Lily. "How are you holding up?"

"I'm fine. It's Kyle I'm worried about…I haven't seen him cry once. It's like he bottling up his grief and refusing to let people see him cry. Which is weird because last year he was crying to himself almost every night, or so I noticed when I stayed with him…" Lily said. The bell rang and Joe, Zach and Lily all left leaving Alex and Matt alone.

"So, you roped my best friend into running with you?" Alex said almost in a sneer. He was cocky and confident he'd win.

"Yeah. And you're other best friend is your vice. No harm done."

"Right…you actually think you can win this thing?"

"Well so do I…I guess we have a problem."

"I don't. But it looks like one of us does…"

"Watch out…I'm not afraid to play dirty."

"And here I thought you'd changed…"

"I have. I just don't like losing. What can you bring to the table if you're prez?"

"You don't know. Ladies and gentlemen our next president doesn't even know what he would do as the next president of our Junior class. It's almost pathetic…" He sneered as he stormed off.

Matt found himself looking at a biography of Aaron Burr, whoever the hell that was? As he started, he found himself drifting to sleep. When he woke up, he was dressed in Period 18th century clothing. He was dressed as Aaron Burr… wait. He WAS Aaron Burr. Who the hell was this guy?

Matt woke up and it was lunch time. Time to face the asshole who all but challenged him to a duel. Alex and Alison might be willing to risk everything for their one shot at being president of their junior class, but Matt was much more calculating. They wanted to play dirty, he'd let them destroy each other. And Matt…Matt would be waiting in the sidelines. And he wasn't going to risk a damn thing.

Sydney was hanging out with Jason Smith, he said his name was, and they were actually getting along pretty well. Jason was flirting with her and she would be lying if she said she didn't like it. When Jason said he needed to go home, she felt like she was finally making another friend no in the glee club.

"What are you doing Syd?" Angelika said behind her.

"What do you mean?"

"You're flirting with him, aren't you?"

"So what if I am."

"It's a bit…"

"A bit what?"

"Skanky…" Alison said, interjecting.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me…what about Andres."

"We are JUST friends."

"Does he know that?"

"Yes. He does…and I thought you were against me dating the guy who sent me into an eating disorder."

"Yeah, but New Guy is totally shady. I don't like him." Alison said. Becca nodding her head in agreement.

"You all feel this way?" She said, hurt that her friends wouldn't trust her judgment. All nodded but Angelika to her relief.

"I do." Angelika said. She wanted to trust that her best friend knew shady characters when they came along ever since the incident with Andres. But Sydney was super naïve and it pained her to have to agree with Alison.

"Well then…you can all go fuck yourselves right to hell. Because we are JUST FRIENDS…" She said before storming off leaving her friends gob smacked that Sydney could be so naïve. Jason was clearly evil.

Around the corner, Jason was smirking and evil grin, his plan was working out perfectly.

It had been a week since the news about Pearl broke and by now everyone had offered up their condolences but Kyle still never showed how truly devastated he was.

Kyle hadn't felt this low in a while; not on the verge of drinking again, but he felt ready to snap at anytime now. His Oma meant the world to him. For so long she was the only person he had on his side, and now that she was gone; he felt lost and he felt himself slipping back down the slope to where he was a year ago. He knew it was only a matter of time before he cracked and had another break down. All it would take was one person to push him over the edge.

Felix was that one person, pushing Glee Clubbers into lockers, throwing slushies at them. This time, Felix decided Kyle was to be his latest victim, he started by slamming him into the locker doors.

"Watch where you're going Fag." He said menacingly. Kyle felt years worth of anger, resentment and self-loathing concentrate in his mind: his parents for leaving him, Kyler for lying to him…it all seemed to build up, Frankie and his Oma for leaving him in this messed up world all alone, the shooter who almost took his best friend away from him.

"What did you say to me?" he snapped.

"Talking back now are we Psycho Fag? You heard me the first time, now I'll forgive you if you get down on your knees, I know you fags like shit like that. I bet you do it all the time with that Sweeting fag you live with, I bet your whore of a grandmother couldn't wait to die because of how fucked up you…" Felix sneered before Kyle felt his own fist colliding with Felix's face.

All around him people were chanting "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!" But Kyle just ignored them, focusing on breaking Felix's nose. He felt someone try to pull him off of the Jock.

"Will please…" Maya begged him as Kyle realized that it was Matt, Alex and Zach trying to pry him away from beating Felix to a pulp, but the rage was too strong and the three boys couldn't stop him.

"Kyle, please stop…" Joe begged him, fear in his voice. He had never seen Kyle so angry before, it was the most terrifying thing he had ever seen. This wasn't the boy he had come to know, the boy that he had come to love as a brother.

"Kyle, please: for Maya, for me?" Lily said to no avail. "Stop for Pearl?" Lily finally said. This snapped him out of it. Felix was whimpering underneath him.

"MR. OGILVIE MY OFFICE IMMEDIATELY…" Mrs. Daniels screamed before grabbing Kyle by the back of his shirt and escorting him to her office. Maya and the other members of the glee club that were there looked worriedly at one another. Kyle was fucked…like worse then Alex and Joe were before winter break.

Kyle was sitting in the chair beside Jessica to his right, and Mrs. Clarke to his right. He was face to face with Ms. Daniels, already knowing what to expect.

"NEVER, in all of my years as an educator, I repeat…NEVER have I seen such a violent fight between two students, absolutely disgraceful to this school and to the two women sitting beside you... You are lucky Mr. Everest is awake and only has a broken nose and a pair of black eyes…"

"He started it…"

"Doesn't matter, Mr. Ogilvie…look at me when I am talking to you: Kyle, you threw the first and only punch. Not giving Felix a chance to fight back. You are lucky his father is not pressing charges…"

"Ms. Daniels, please understand the stress Kyle is going through these days…"

"His behavior is still unacceptable. Kyle I am sorry, but you are suspended for a month…I am sorry, Karen, Jessica: but Mr. Ogilvie's actions speak for themself. What he has done is unacceptable. However, since it is his first offence, I will make it detention until the end of the year on top of a three day's suspension and a week of in school suspension. During which, Kyle is to apologize to Felix…"

Kyle was shocked at this: considering Joe and Alex got a two week suspension for supposedly bullying Felix. Then he realized Ms. Daniels was going easier on him because of the situation as a whole. Mr. Everest was definitely not going to be happy about this, but Kyle was going through hell and punishing him for beating some kid for provoking an already fragile kid was not going to make things better. He hated that his principal pitied him.

Fat fucking chance…Kyle wondered aloud to himself.

"Excuse me?" Ms. Daniels said, gob smacked that Kyle would swear in her office in the presence of a teacher and his guardian. Especially after she had decided to go easy on him.

"I said fat fucking chance am I going to apologize to Felix. He deserved what he got…"

"Kyle!" Karen and Jessica said shocked.

"He called my Oma a whore and said she deserved to die. But not after he called me a fag over and over again. I snapped, after all the shit he put me and my friends though, I finally did something about it…"

"Whilst I am sorry about your grandmother, do you really think this is acceptable behavior? The poor boy is in the hospital right now…"

"He got what he deserved. I'm not going to apologize for something I'm not sorry for…"

Realizing that the boy was not going to budge in his hatred towards Felix, Ms. Daniels dismissed the three of them out of her office.

"Mr. Ogilvie, it's a long way to graduation…don't make an enemy out anyone, especially not me..." She warned. Kyle stormed off. "I won't go so easy on you next time…don't push it with me…"

"Kyle." Karen Clarke said shortly.

"What?" Kyle snapped.

"Do NOT talk to me like that young man. What is going on?"

"I don't need this, Clarke…you're my teacher, not my mother."

"Kyle, cut the attitude…"

"Fuck this…" Kyle said storming off. Jessica looked at Karen worriedly. When he was gone, Karen motioned to Jessica Sweeting to go after him.

"He'll listen to you. There's something bigger going on with Kyle and we're all afraid of what he'll do to himself." Karen said. Jessica nodded as she went to find the boy who had all but legally become her second son.

"Kyle?" Jessica said behind the boy who was so clearly distraught. He looked completely hopeless and frazzled. His eyes were wild with anger and sadness. But there were still no tears. He was keeping all of his feelings to himself.

"What?" Kyle said sounding completely exhausted.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." He said, looking down at his shoes.

"You always look at your feet when you lie to me; you know that? Are you sure everything is…"

"I said I'm fine." Kyle snapped.

"Are you on your meds?"

"Yes…" Kyle lied. Jessica knew straight away, she just starred at him until he looked back down at his feet.

"Kyle, sit down…this behavior is not good for you. I might suggest you…"

"Can you please not pull this fucking therapist bullshit with me…I don't need a therapist right now. I need my…"

"Your Oma?" She said simply. "Look, Kyle I know this is hard for you but do you really think that Pearl would have wanted to you stop taking your meds…"

"You DON'T get to say her name. And you sure as fucking hell don't get to tell me what my Oma was think…"

"You are underage and are acting irrationally. As long as you are living under my roof, you will listen…"

"YOU'RE NOT MY FUCKING MOTHER!" these words felt like a dagger to the heart…just three days ago he had said to her that she was the 'best mother ever' "I know you want to think you are, but you're not. My mother abandoned me and kicked me out in front of all of my friends. I'm not a fucking Sweeting, and I will never be a fucking Sweeting. I'm an Ogilvie through and through. So stop acting like you know what's best for me because you don't!" Kyle screamed just as Joe and Lily walked in the house.

"Don't fucking yell at my mother like that Kyle." Joe snapped, as Kyle pushed through all of them, slamming the front door so hard it shook the walls. Jessica felt tears forming in her eyes.

"Did he hurt you mom?"

"No, I'm fine sweetie. He would never hurt me, and he's right…"

"Joe, I promise: I'm fine. Kyle on the other hand is not and I'm scared about what he might do to himself." Jessica said calmly, reassuring her son and daughter that she was fine. "Kyle needs us, more then ever. We are his family, whether he realizes it or not…which I know he does."

Lily looked at Joe, who was still shaking with rage at Kyle for screaming as their mother like he did. But Joe eventually came to realize that it wasn't his mother Kyle was angry at.

"I'll call Maya, Matt, Zach…anyone who might have seen him." Joe said, finally with a level head, before leaving for his car; Lily following behind him.

"That was quick…" Lily pointed out.

"I think I know where he might go…" Joe said, avoiding her inquisition.

"You don't think he's going to start drinking again, do you?" Lily said worried.

"I hope not." He said as his phone began to ring. It was Zach.

"Zach? Have you seen him?"

No luck yet, but Nathan, Matt and I are going to be looking around the bars and such, just in case he feels a temptation…

"Okay, call if you find anything?"

"Obvi. Later Sweeting." Nathan said.

"Kyle?" Sydney asked from behind him.

"What?" Kyle said shortly.

"Lily and Joe both just called me, you've gone missing, apparently?"

"You're gonna take me too them?"

"No, Angelika is probably with them and I can't handle her right now…"

"So what did you want to do?"

"Normally I'd go to the gym and punch the hell out of a punching bag…I may be small but I'm strong as fuck. What about you?"

"I'd normally go on a bar crawl…"

"Not really the best option now is it?"

"Probably not…neither of us want to be flayed alive by Lily…"

"Theres a karaoke night at the CeleryStixxx?"

"Sounds fun…just one drink?"

"No, Kyle…"

"I just need to feel something. I don't feel anything inside right now…"

"You're in mourning…Though, I haven't seen you cry yet?"

"I don't do crying. I'm numb right now and I just want to keep it that way…"

"So I heard what happened at school today?" She mentioned, handing him a small flask, which Kyle would recognize anywhere. He drank it down and welcomed the burning sensation like an old friend.

"Just promise me not to tell Lily or Maya about it? They'd kill us both…" Kyle begged as Sydney consented. What harm could one flask do?

When they arrived in Celerystixx, they saw Matt was there, alone. Sydney waved over to him and then went to grab a seat beside him. Kyle followed suit. Feeling all mellowed out and calm for the moment.

"Hey guys…Kyle? Everyone's looking for you…" Matt said to the two of them as Kyle gave him a huge bear hug.

"Matt, please don't call Lily, Maya or Joe just yet we want to have some fucking fun first. All they are is a bunch of boring ass buzzkills" Kyle said, breaking the mellow mood and feeling riled up once again.

"You gave him something didn't you?" Matt said, pulling Sydney aside while Kyle excused himself to the bathroom,

"He needed to calm down…"

"God, Sydney, he's an alcoholic!"

"It was one shot…what's the worst that could happen? He just lost his grandmother, let him have some fun for once…"

"If this goes haywire, it's all on you…how long do you think he can keep it from Lily or Maya? They will murder you in your sleep…"

"Look, we're all worried about Kyle. Maybe the best way to look after him is to let him have some fun and control it…"

"Like you're doing right now?" Matt said sarcastically.

"What do you mean?"

"MATT, SYDNEY LETS SING ASONG? LETS SING A GOOD FUCKING SONG!" Kyle yell slurred. Matt and Sydney followed each other up to the stage set up. They both noticed Kyle was a lot more riled up then he should be after one shot. And then they realized it wasn't just a shot as they saw him drinking a glass of clear liquid that looked either like Vodka or water… it was most likely vodka given his state of mind at the moment.

The karaoke song began and the soft Piano beginning had begun.

How can you see into my eyes like open doors?

Leading you down into my core where I've become so numb

Without a soul my spirit's sleeping somewhere cold

Until you find it there and lead it back home

(Wake me up)

Wake me up inside

(I can't wake up)

Wake me up inside

(Save me)

Call my name and save me from the dark

Bid my blood to run

(I can't wake up)

Before I come undone

(Save me)

Save me from the nothing I've become

Now that I know what I'm without

You can't just leave me

Breathe into me and make me real

Bring me to life

(Wake me up)

Wake me up inside

(I can't wake up)

Wake me up inside

(Save me)

Call my name and save me from the dark

(Wake me up)

Bid my blood to run

(I can't wake up)

Before I come undone

(Save me)

Save me from the nothing I've become

Bring me to life

(I've been living a lie, there's nothing inside)

Bring me to life

Frozen inside without your touch

Without your love, darling

Only you are the life among the dead

Kyle began to see the faces of his brother and his grandmother…one was dressed in all black (Frankie) and the other in all white (Pearl). Frankie had a look of pure joy and pride on his face at the sight of his brother, while his Oma had one of disappointment. He felt his skin go clammy and his spine tingle.

All this time I can't believe I couldn't see

Kept in the dark but you were there in front of me

I've been sleeping a thousand years it seems

Got to open my eyes to everything

Without a thought, without a voice, without a soul

Don't let me die here

There must be something more

Kyle screams the last line which both Sydney and Matt interpret as a cry for help. Kyle begins feeling helpless and almost frightened of the visions he sees of his dead brother and grandmother. Kyle's eyes were completely manic right now. Sydney noticed that Kyle was beginning to freak out. He looked like he had just seen a ghost.

Bring me to life

(Wake me up)

Wake me up inside

(I can't wake up)

Wake me up inside

(Save me)

Call my name and save me from the dark

(Wake me up)

Bid my blood to run

(I can't wake up)

Before I come undone

(Save me)

Save me from the nothing I've become

Bring me to life

(I've been living a lie, there's nothing inside)

Bring me to life

Once the song was done, Kyle left the stage in a panic and disappeared in the crowd. Matt and Sydney rushed after him, not wanting him to get hurt.

"KYLE!" Sydney screamed after him, as Matt followed suit, his phone out, dialing Joe's number.

Kyle curled up in a ball in his Oma's apartment. He was so lost, she was gone, Frankie was gone. He was all alone; he wished he had enough strength to leave with them.

Kyle got up and walked over to her old liquor cabinet that was locked, and when he wanted to stay sober more then anything thus, he never dared open it. But this time he did. He grabbed her favourite bottle of Brandy and began drinking it, sobbing to himself, anything to feel something, to feel closer to her. He needed her, she was his rock, she was his main reason for staying as long as he did. He had felt broken before, but right now, at his lowest, he felt broken beyond all repair.

His phone was buzzing, he checked the display screen and saw several unchecked messages and that Joe was trying to call him: messages from Joe and Jessica and Lily and Maya and Sydney and Matt and Nathan and Zach and even Alison. He locked the screen and turned off his phone and staggered out the door, haling a taxi only to be let out at a Night Club called Hot and Heavy.

Kyle flashed his fake I.D and was let in. Kyle felt the alcohol getting to his head and he didn't want to be completely hungover in the morning: so he began to dance: badly. Like, so badly that Mrs. Clarke would have kicked him out of the Note-Worthy right then and there.

Here we go

Welcome to my funeral

Without you I don't even have a pulse

All alone it's dark and cold

With every move I die

Here I go

This is my confessional

A lost cause nobody can save my soul

I am so delusional

With every move I die

I have destroyed our love,

It's gone

Payback is sick

It's all my fault

Kyle flashed his fake I.D and was let in. Kyle felt the alcohol getting to his head and he didn't want to be completely hungover in the morning: so he began to dance: badly. Like, so badly that Mrs. Clarke would have kicked him out of the Note-Worthy right then and there

I'm dancing with tears in my eyes

Just fighting to get through the night

I'm losing it

With every move I die

I'm faded

I'm broken inside

I've wasted the love of my life

I'm losing it

With every move I die

Kyle had left the bar around Midnight and found himself, for some reason, at the school. It was coincidently unlocked and there didn't seem to be anyone there. Kyle turned the door knob and went straight for the stage. He looks at the Dance mirrors used for the Dance team to practice on with the bar.

When did I become such a hypocrite

Double life, lies that you caught me in

Trust me I'm paying for it with every move I die

On the floor I'm just a zombie

Who I am is not who I wanna be

I'm such a tragedy

With every move I die

I have destroyed our love,

It's gone

Payback is sick

It's all my fault

Kyle began feeling every feeling known to man: the anger from the years of neglect from his parents, the doubt of his friendships with the Note-Worthy, the sadness from the deaths of his brother and Oma. It was all so overwhelming that he could hardly remember why he had gotten to this point in the first place.

I'm dancing with tears in my eyes

Just fighting to get through the night

I'm losing it

With every move I die

I'm faded

I'm broken inside

I've wasted the love of my life

I'm losing it

With every move I die

This is it and now you're really gone this time

Never once thought I'd be in pieces left behind

Kyle began feeling every feeling known to man: the anger from the years of neglect from his parents, the doubt of his friendships with the Note-Worthy, the sadness from the deaths of his brother and Oma. It was all so overwhelming that he could hardly remember why he had gotten to this point in the first place.

I'm dancing with tears in my eyes

Just fighting to get through the night

I'm losing it

With every move I die

I'm faded

I'm broken inside

I've wasted the love of my life

I'm losing it

With every move I die

Kyle finally began to break down and cry, for the first time in a long time, well an hour, he began to bawl his eyes out, thankfully no one was there to see him cry: he couldn't be weak, his Oma always called him strong and he couldn't let her down again. He just couldn't see a way out of these feelings he was feeling. It wasn't just the alcohol talking. He was truly and very much fucked up: it was time he accepted it. There was no normal with, no going back…

Suddenly the spotlights turned on. Kyle strained his eyes to try and see who was there, of course there were tears from when Kyle was sobbing while singing.

"Who's there? You shouldn't be here?" He said quickly.

"Neither should you, Kyle…" Mrs. Clarke said sternly.

"Mrs. Clarke? W-what are you doing here?"

"Figuring out what the hell to do with you kids because you all seem to get suspended every other week…"

"Sorry about that."

"Kyle I know you're going through a hard time, but blaming yourself for everything that goes wrong is just going to break you that much faster."

"I guess I just don't like myself. My self esteem is so low, that I can't find anything positive about myself. I act all confident and strong but all I am is weak…"

"Not that weak. We all saw what you did to Mr. Everest's nose." She winked at him. She smelled brandy on him. She felt so much pity for Kyle, he had gotten a poor lot in life…but he seemed to be pulling himself together despite his many faults.

"It's just…I have no one left. I can't see a way out of this. I'm lost and I have no one left." He said, tears forming in his eyes as he crumbled to the floor, finally breaking down from exhaustion. He heard the door open, but he didn't care who it was. He looked up and saw Joe and Lily standing over him. Maya and the rest of the Note-Worthy were standing behind them.

"You always have people on your side, Kyle…remember that." Mrs. Clarke said.

Maya stepped forward and hugged her best friend who sobbed in her arms. Maya grabbed her best friend by the shoulders and began singing to him as he finally started to cry, finally surrendering to what he was feeling on the inside.

Mother cannot guide you

Now you're on your own

Only me beside you

Still, you're not alone

No one is alone, truly

No one is alone

Sometimes people leave you

Halfway through the wood

Others may deceive you

You decide what's good

You decide alone

But no one is alone

(I wish)

I know

Mother isn't here now

(Wrong things, right things)

Who knows what she'd say?

(Who can say what's true?)

Nothing's quite so clear now

(Do things, fight things)

Feel you've lost your way?

(You decide, but)

You are not alone

Believe me

No one is alone (No one is alone)

Believe me

You move just a finger

Say the slightest word

Something's bound to linger

Be heard

No one acts alone

No one is alone

People make mistakes

People make mistakes

Holding to their own

Thinking they're alone

Honor their mistakes

Fight for their mistakes

Everybody makes

One another's terrible mistakes

Witches can be right

Giants can be good

You decide what's right

You decide what's good

Just remember (Just remember)

Someone is on your side

Our side

Our side

Someone else is not

While we're seeing our side

(Our Side)

Our Side

Maybe we forgot

They are not alone

No one is alone

Hard to see the light now

Just don't let it go

Things will come out right now

We can make it so

Someone is on your side

Maya grabbed her best friend, the one she had been through so much with; the one she loved more than anyone else in the world other than her Lola. The one person who needed her more than ever now, the one person who was getting so much better, but was now falling back to the person he was before, and empty shell of himself. She grabbed Kyle's face, puffy with tears and eyes red like the sun.

No one is alone

Kyle looked back at Maya with uncertain eyes. He was breaking from the inside out, and tonight's relapse had made that all the more clear. He continued to sob in her arms as one by one, all other members of the Glee club hugged them, creating a giant wall of love. But Kyle still needed time to come to terms with his grief. And all the love in the world couldn't make him grieve any faster.

"Kids? The three of us need to talk…" Jessica said sternly as Kyle was staying with Maya and her Lola tonight.

"It's about Kyle, isn't it?"

"I think tonight was a hard reminder that even the toughest people can crack."

"What's going to happen to him mom?" Lily asked.

"I don't know…but I do know that I will not give up on him, and neither should you." Jessica said.

"Can't you just adopt him?" Joe asked.

"Like you did with me?" Lily pointed out.

"It's not that simple…legally he's still an Ogilvie. His parents never formally disowned him. They just threw him out and changed the locks…"

They spent the whole night talking about Kyle. He was doing so well until the last few days, which, while understandable, scared the three of them all to death as to what he could possibly do. More importantly, they were discussing what they could do for him. And then the phone rang…

Kyle and Maya were sitting in her room, he was drinking an iced Tea out of the same pink sparkly Spider-Girl mug he was drinking from a few nights ago. All they were doing was staring at each other, no words were exchanged for the longest time.

"Kyle, do you…" She began to say as Kyle wrapped his arms around her and began to silently sob.

"Hey, it's okay…" She said, "This is all Sydney's fault…"

"Maya please…"

"If she hadn't …"

"I asked her too."

"She never would have if I didn't ask her too. I needed something to take the edge off. It all finally came crashing down on me and a drink seemed like a very good solution at the time. Please don't blame her, for me?"

"Fine…for you. I promise I won't blame her…"

"I wish it was me instead of her…"

"Don't say that. Kyle…look at me." Maya pleaded as she urged her best friend to look her in the eyes. "I love you so much. I know we haven't been there for each other lately but I know you and Nathan were the ones who barely left my side in the hospital. You were there for me and now I am 100% here for you."

"Promise?" He said, not looking tired, but looking like a scared little boy. A look she hadn't seen since his brother's funeral. He wasn't crying anymore. He couldn't: his tear ducts were dried up.

"Always" Maya said, cracking a small smile.

Hours later, Kyle eventually fell asleep, Maya quietly began singing to him: and to herself.

When your tears are spent on your last pretense

And your tired eyes refuse to close and sleep in your defense

When it's in your spine like you've walked for miles

And the only thing you want is just to be still for a while

And if your heart wears thin, I will hold you up

And I will hide you when it gets too much

I'll be right beside you, I'll be right beside you

Staring at a picture of her and Kyle at Celerystixx with Joe and Jessica, Lily began singing the same song to her brother. Sure they had both lost their grandmother, but Kyle was her grandson, she was only related to Pearl by blood: she never actually had a relationship with her.

When you're overwhelmed and you've lost your breath

And the space between the things you know is blurry nonetheless

When you try to speak but you make no sound

And the words you want are out of reach but they've never been so loud

And if your heart wears thin, I will hold you up

And I will hide you when it gets too much

I'll be right beside you, I'll be right beside you

The next Monday, with Kyle staying home since he was suspended for two weeks, Maya decided to sing this song for him even if he wasn't there at the moment. Across the room, eyes were welling up all around, Maya even saw Alison start weeping.

I will stay,

(I will stay here beside you)

Nobody will break you

Trust in me, trust in me,

Don't pull away

Just trust in me, trust me 'cause I'm just trying to keep it together

'Cause I could do worse and you could do better

When your tears are spent on your last pretense

And your tired eyes refuse to close and sleep in your defense

Lily, not being able to stay silent decided to join her. They had never really had a conversation, but the two girls had their love for Kyle in common and neither of them wanted to see him the way he is at the moment.

And if your heart wears thin I will hold you up

And I will hide you when it gets too much

I'll be right beside you, nobody will break you

And if your heart wears thin I will hold you up

And I will hide you when it gets too much

I'll be right beside you

Nobody will break you

The bell rang and Maya and Lily stayed back to talk. The two girls smiled meakly at each other.

"How is he?"

"He hasn't come out of his room in three days…since he got back from your place."

"I haven't seen him like this since the day of Frankie's funeral…"

"What was he like?"

"Frankie? I had only known him for a few weeks before…well, you know. But according to Kyle, other than Pearl, Frankie was Kyle's biggest fan. They got along like you and Joe. Just two peas in a pod since Kyle could walk, even though Frankie was four years older than him.

"I remember on the day of his funeral I remember Kyle choked up and I had to finish his speech for him. Pearl couldn't make it to the funeral and Kyle was so mad at her, and since his, well, yours too, mom and Pearl rarely got along, they never got the chance to see each other until last year…"

"You know our parents have banned him from the funeral?"

"That's awful."

"My mom, Jessica, doesn't have the heart to tell him."

"When did you find this out?"

"When he was at your place. Buffy called, clearly wasted out of her mind. I can't believe Kyle lived with that for all of those years…"

"There's a meeting with the Pearl's lawyers tomorrow. Kyle wants me to go with him…but I don't think I can face them. And I will never forgive them for what they did to Kyle. "

"Lily, we need to be there for him. No matter what…"

"I know. I'm so fucking angry that Buffy and Eugene took my family away from me, maybe if I was there I could've been there for him and he wouldn't be like he is now. But Kyle comes first right now…"

"Girls, chop chop… time for class." Mrs. Florentine said. The old hag, she never had any respect for the students unless you were in her golden circle.

The girls parted ways and Lily knew that she had to be the one to tell Kyle about the funeral situation. But like Jessica, Lily didn't know if she had the heart to give him the news.

"So…you're in the glee club right?"

"Yeah, its fun."

"Really?" Jason said, egging Sydney on.

"Really, well maybe not this week; but like, usually it is. Like for regionals this year we're gonna be doing a tribute number to Katy Perry complete with Whipped cream tits and sparklers…" She said, lying trying to figure him out.

"That sounds…interesting."

"Who are you really?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean…everyone is telling me you're shady as hell and I can swear I've seen your face somewhere bef…" Sydney started to say as 'Jason' kissed her.

Andres was so ready to tell Sydney he still had feelings for her. Today was the day: he could feel it. He saw Angelika standing in the middle of the hallway. She looked gob smacked about something. When he went to see what it was he saw Sydney kissing the new kid.

Angelika saw Andres and was about to say something but he stormed off.

"Andres…" Angelika called after him. Sydney heard this and realized that they had an audience.

Sydney ditched Jason, who was smirking to himself. He was so fucking good at these disguises. No one suspected a thing.

"Where's Andres?" Sydney asked Angelika who turned around fuming.

"So you really do care about him?"

"Of course I care about him. He's my friend…"

"He obviously didn't think so."

"SO this is my fault…"

"Yes, Sydney it is. What happened today…"

"I didn't kiss Jason, he is obviously gay. And who the hell are you to judge me?"

"I'm your fucking friend…"

"And yet you CONSTANTLY JUDGE ME, you're no little miss Sunshine either Ang."

"More so than you…" Angelika muttered.

"How's Zach? Have you talked to him lately?"

"That's different…"

"How so?"

"Because I actually had feeling for Rufus…"

Go ahead

Throw your rocks at me

From your little glass house

And then take off running

You're no better than me

We've both made mistakes intentionally

And I won't do what you keep doing

Sit in judgment of a house I ruined

I don't claim to be proud

But my head wont be hung in shame

I didn't plan it

But the light turned red, and I ran it

And I'm still standing

It's not what I wanted, but now that it's right here

I understand it

A story written by my own hand

It's life biting right at your heels

I didn't plan it

But it's finally something to feel

"Grow the hell up here Sydney…I didn't mess up a perfectly good friendship. Zach and I just need some space. But you? You destroyed Andres…how are our situations similar?" Angelika said.

Look around you

Ain't no saints here baby

We're all just looking for a little less crazy

And sometimes it's a hard left turn

Down a road you'd never thought you'd see

Don't you think dealing blame is a hazard

I'm not the only one whose dark side has her

I didn't plan it

Taking back what's been taken for granted

'Cause I can't stand it

I'm sick of the way I've been waiting to break free

I needed saving

And a good mistake needed making

Maybe you need the same thing

I didn't plan it

Taking back what's been taken for granted

I'm sick of the way I've been waiting to break free

I didn't plan it

But it's finally something to feel

Something to feel

"So that's how it's different…you USED Zach."

"And you gave Kyle alcohol and got him wasted…"

"I was helping a friend. Something I guess you don't know a damn thing abo…" Sydney sneered before Angelika slapped her. Sydney slapped her back and before they knew it the two girls were on the floor wrestling with each on the floor.

"Ang what the hell?" Zach said picking his ex off the ground.

"Sydney back off…" Andres said clearly still pissed off.

"I'm fine…just keep that bitch away from me."

"Sounds good to me…" Sydney said storming off. Andres followed her.

"What was that about?"

"You and I are friends right?"

"Yeah…I mean: I think so?"

"Friends tell friends stuff right?"

"Sydney…I like you. But if you don't like me in return I get it."

"Andres: Look, I like you, a lot. But I need some time to find myself…"

"I get it…I'll see you later Sydney."

"Andres…" She shouted in vain as Andres was gone, disappeared around the corner and out of the hallway.

"Matt?" Maya asked poking her head over the cubicle her ex was seated at.

"Hey Maya…what's up?"

"Is everything okay?"

"I'm stressed out… that's all. What's up?"

"You seem down…"

"It's nothing it's just…I have no idea what I'm going to do if I'm class president. I don't know what the hell I stand for…"

"Matt, as Alison's running mate, I am going to stop listening to you." Maya said as Matt hung his head low. "But as your friend, the best thing about you is that you care: it's part of the reason I fell in love with you. You like to see the good in everyone and you're by far the most rational member of the glee club. Show the rest of the school the Matt I know, and you've got this in the bag…" She said before leaving. As she left, Matt felt the urge to say something.

"Maya?" He piped out. He had no idea what to say. This was his ex girlfriend and she was his current girlfriends arch nemesis as well as her Vice President running mate.

"…Thank you. I know things are tough right now with Kyle but I'm here if you need to talk?"

"There's the Matt I know." She said as Matt could see the tears beginning to well up in her eyes. "I gotta go. Your girlfriend is waiting and I'm sure you know that Alison does not like to be kept waiting."

"Right…see you later than?"

"Yeah. You will." She said as she walked off.

This was it: the moment of truth for Lily. She was about to tell Kyle that he was banned from his own grandmother's funeral. She knew it was going to be hard: but she had been putting it off for so long she was tired. She realized it was better he heard it from her, then from Joe or Jessica.

"Kyle?" she said as she knocked on his door. When she entered his room it was spotless. More so than usual: Kyle was working out in the corner.

"Hey. Frankie told me that I was getting fat and that my room was a mess. I couldn't have that. Frankie was always cleaner than I was. I don't want to disappoint him again…" He said as she realized that Frankie was back. Her heart was breaking even further for her brother. He was so…he was so messed up, but so innocent at the same time.

"Kyle can you stop for a sec?"

"Sure…what's up?"

Here it was, the moment of truth as Kyle was staring at her inquisitively. She had to tell him now…

"Your…our parents called when you were at Maya's place…"

"Okay? What did they want?" He said, his face was calm but his eyes knew exactly what was coming.

"They don't…Kyle: they don't want you at…"

"The funeral…" He said, completing what she was about to say.

"I'll stay here with you, the day of…"

"No. Go, one of us should. Just tell me if Buffy used tiger lilies in the church…they were always her favourite…And tell me if a choir sings The Second Star To The Right, it's from her favourite movie/book? And don't forget to…" He said as tears began to well up in his eyes. He was so sick of crying in front of his sister.

Lily just looked at him and hugged him right on the spot. Joe walked by and saw that Kyle's door was open and realized that Lily must have told him. He walked in and joined in on the hug.

The day of the funeral was a tough one. When Lily and Alex left, Kyle was nowhere to be seen. Nathan, Maya and Joe decided to take him away to the mall during the funeral and then the entire Glee Club was meeting at Maya's for their own vigil/sleepover. After that they would drop him off at the Lawyers in the morning and he would meet up with Lily for the meeting about Pearl's will.

"Hey…you okay?"

"I'm fine…"

"Lily: I know you…"

"I can't believe they could do this to him…"

"I get that you care for Kyle: we all do. But I need to know how you are feeling?"

"I'm angry; at Buffy and Eugene for what they did to me and Kyle: how they could just abandon him like that. I'm hurt that they would ban their own son from his grandmother's funeral. I should be there with Kyle today. I shouldn't be going there: he should." Lily said.

"Kyle wants you here because he trusts you more than anything."

"I'm also sad that I don't have the same relationship with Pearl that Kyle has…had." She said, correcting herself.

The funeral was lovely, but it was nothing like how Kyle said Pearl would want. There were roses instead of tiger lilies. There was a string quartet playing Beethoven instead of a choir.

Buffy began to speak and Lily clenched her fists. She had only seen this woman once in her life and that one time was enough for her.

"…as you can see, our…son, isn't here today. Him and his grandmother were cut from the same cloth. My mother was a stone cold woman who didn't know how to love me. I tried my best to do the same for my three..sorry, for Margot and she turned out pretty alright." Buffy said. She was making her mother's funeral all about her. Lily was glad that Kyle wasn't here.

After the funeral Alex got Lily's coat and they headed towards the door until Lily was stopped by Buffy.

"And just what do you think you are doing here?"

"I'm here for my grandmother, Buffy."

"Listen Lillian…"

"It's Lily."

"Whatever. You shouldn't be here. Why do you think we gave you up? You were a mistake. So were your brothers…"

"Who is this, Buffy?" a random woman asked, clearly suspicious as she was eyeing Lily and Alex with disgust.

"I'm her daughter." Lily said. Alex tried to stop her, but she shrugged him off. She had to do this: for Kyle.

"We are all here for Pearl. But there is one person who couldn't be here today: her GRANDSON, Kyle. Oh and I'm her other granddaughter, Lily. These two…charming, people, and I use that word lightly; Eugene and Buffy Ogilvie abandoned me as a baby and put me in an orphanage when I was born because they didn't want another daughter. Then, 15 years later, they threw Kyle out of the house because he was gay and then went to celebrate, not caring if he lived or died. And to top off the sundae of shitty parenting, they banned Kyle from his own grandmother's funeral… congratulations MOM and DAD, you are officially the WORST parents in the world. Have fun at your 'celebration of life.' Hope it's a good party. Meanwhile, I'm going to remember Pearl as how Kyle says she was, kind, loving and not a hurtful bone in her body. THESE two are the real stone cold cunts."

"Well I never…" Buffy said, not expecting her abandoned daughter to use such language. "Why are you such a rude little…"

"Poppycock bitch, I'm fucking lovely." Lily said before grabbing Alex by the hand and dragging him back to his car. She had never felt so good in her life.

"Did you film that?"

"I can't wait to show it to Kyle." She simply said as they drove to the Mall to be with the people who mattered most to Lily; her family.

"You actually said that to my mom?" Kyle said, having just watched the video. The two of them were at home with Joe. Maya never told her Lola that she was having an actual party. She was forced to cancel and join her Lola at Church in the morning.

"Yeah I did." Lily said as Kyle smiled for the first time in almost two weeks. His suspension had ended and he was half-way done his in- school one.

"How did it feel sticking it to her?"

"Amazing Joe…you should have been there to see the look on her face…"

"I wish I was…" Joe said before he realized how insensitive it was for him to say.

"I do too." Kyle said sadly.

"Hey…It's okay." Lily said patting his back.

"It's just…the two people I loved most in the world, and who loved me back just as much are gone…and I'm never going to see them again." He said sadly.

Joe had no idea what to say. Sure, he thought Kyle was a bit depressing at times, but he was grieving in his own unique way. Joe did the only thing he could to ease the kid who was basically his brother.

Those you've known

And lost, still walk behind you

All alone

They linger till they find you

Without them

The world grows dark around you

And nothing is the same until you know that they have found you

Those you've pained

May carry that still with them

All the same

They whisper 'All forgiven.'

Still your heart says

The shadows bring the starlight

And everything you've ever been is still there in the dark night

Though you know

You've left them far behind

(When the northern wind blows)

You walk on by yourself, and not with them

(The sorrows your heart holds)

Still you know

(There are those who still know)

They will fill your heart and mind

(They're still home)

When they say there's a way through this

(We're still home)

Frankie and Pearl both arrived at this moment. And though no one else could see then, Kyle could. They may have just been a figment of his imagination but they were real and Kyle could see them. That was all that mattered.

Those you've known

And lost, still walk behind you

All alone

Their song still seems to find you

They call you

As if you knew their longing

They whistle through the lonely wind, the long blue shadows falling

All alone

But still I hear their yearning

Through the dark, the moon, alone there, burning

The stars too

They tell of spring returning And summer with another wind that no one yet has known

(JOE and LILY Join with Counterparts)

They call me

Through all things

Night's falling

But somehow I go on

You watch me

Just watch me

I'm calling

From longing

LILY (Sung in Counterpart)

When the northern wind blows

The sorrows your heart's known

I believe'

JOE (Sung in Counterpart)

Though you know

There's so much more to find

Another dream, another love you'll hold

Still you know

To trust your own true mind

On your way you are not alone

There are those who still know

Now they'll walk on my arm through the distant night

And I won't let them stray from my heart

Through the wind, through the dark, through the winter light

I will read all their dreams to the stars

I'll walk now with them

I'll call on their names

I'll see their thoughts are known

Not gone, Not gone

They walk with my heart

(Not gone

And I'll never let them go

(Not gone)

I'll never let them go

(Not gone)

I'll never let them go

Frankie began to leave, he had a big goofy smile on his face as he faded. Kyle felt his heart skip a beat because he didn't want to say goodbye.

"Later kiddo. Just don't come too soon. I like being on my own up here." He said as he faded away.

You watch me

Just watch me

I'm calling

I'm calling

And one day all will know

Pearl on the other hand lingered for a while longer before leaving with a smile on her face. Kyle didn't even realize she had left. He knew it wasn't real but he felt as though he still had some unfinished business with her.

The next day, Kyle put on his suit, the one he would have worn to Pearl's funeral. He had a meeting with the lawyer and that meant that Pearl's will was going to be read aloud to him and the rest of his family. He was just a 16 year old boy…he wasn't expecting much.

Lily met him downstairs with Alex in tow. He was going to drive the three of them there and back. Kyle must admit, that Alex was growing on him. Jessica was accompanying the two of them there,

"You ready?"

"Yeah…as ready as I'll ever be."

"Right, so the long story short is…we need to give Pearl the funeral she deserved with Kyle there. So here's what's going to happen…" Joe said on Skype to the Note-Worthy.

The Lawyer's office was nice. Kyle figured his grandmother would not settle for anything but the best. When Kyle, Jessica and Lily got there, his parents and sister were already there. Buffy and Eugene had a sneer on their face while Margot had a neutral expression on her face. The lawyer was named Rosemary Lovett.

"Right… so here is the last will and testament of Pearlina Wendla Liliana Van De Bos…

I, Pearl Van De Bos

Being of sound mind do so leave the majority of my assets and property to my grandson, Kyle William Ogilvie…"

Kyle's jaw dropped at this, as did everyone else in the room.

"Ten percent of my total earnings is to go to my granddaughter Marguerite Andrea Ogilvie-Nederberg, who is to inherit a total of one million dollars. The rest is to go to my grandson which he is to inherit at the age of 18.

The shareholder of these funds is to be Ms. Jessica Sweeting, who is to become his legal guardian and my daughter, Buffilda and son in law, Eugene are to officially recognize this.

Further more, my daughter and son in law are not to inherit a thing as they have shown that they show no care towards the well-being of my grandchildren.

Finally, an exact amount of two-hundred thousand dollars is to be set aside for my other granddaughter, Liliana Bruno as well as Jessica Sweeting's son, Joseph. This money is to be set aside for their post-high School education.

The contents of this will are my final wish before I leave this earth and will be enacted by the legal adivisment of Attorney Rosemary Lovett."

Eugene's face was filled with rage.

"That will was changed…"

"It was changed on March 6, 2016…the very same day that you kicked Kyle out of your family. I am sorry Mr. Ogilvie, but as Pearl's lawyer, it is my duty to carry out her final will."

"No, Margot…I'm glad that you finally said something, Dad. You tried to destroy my self-confidence once. And you almost succeeded. But not anymore. I am so much stronger, and I didn't learn that from you. I learned it from Oma and I learned it from Lily." He said.

Eugene looked like he was about to say something but no words exited his mouth.

"No…it's my turn to speak. This 'woman' is a better parent than you ever could be. She's my mom. Lily is my sister and I have a better family than the three of you EVER could wish for… I am so glad you abandoned me, because now I'm FINALLY free and I finally have a family that loves me no matter what." Kyle said to his father before turning to Jessica "I know I said some things to you a few weeks ago and I'm sorry…" Jessica just smiled as Eugene and Buffy stormed out.

As Kyle was grabbing his coat, Margot walked up to him.

"Hey…" she said meekly; which was odd for her.

"Hi." Kyle said, not caring about her. He didn't need her.

"I just wanted to say…I'm sorry. I was so wrapped up in my own little world that I couldn't be bothered with you. There's nearly a 12 year age difference between us…"

"I'm glad Oma gave you everything. Mom would just use it and spend it on a fancy trip. And I wouldn't do much better."

"How's James and Katie?"

"James left. He didn't want me to reconnect with you, so he left me and Katie for California."

"And Katie?"

"She keeps asking to see her Uncle. And I guess she has another Aunt…"

"Does Jessica hug you?"

"Sometimes. More than Buffy ever did"

There was a brief awkward pause. Kyle had so much he wanted to ask Margot, but he couldn't forget all of the shit she put him through.

"Kyle?" Lily asked interrupting the atmosphere. "You ready to g…? Oh, I'll leave you two to it…"

"You must be Lily. I'm Margot."

"Nice to meet you…I think."

"If you wanted to reconnect with me, then why didn't you?" Kyle blurted out.

"I was scared you wouldn't want to. And I would not blame you; I was horrible to you. I hope one day you can forgive me, sorry that both of you can forgive me." Margot said before she left.

"Yeah, I'm ready. Let's go." He said before rushing out. Lily followed him.

There was a small box in Kyle's room that he rarely opened. In this box was a small letter, addressed to him under the name Billy, from Pearl for when he turned 18. She gave it to him about a year before he started grade eight, a few weeks before Frankie died.

During his funeral, when Kyle wondered where she was, he would stare at the letter for hours, imagining what it said, hoping for an explanation as to why she couldn't make it. When she died, he cracked and opened it and never told a soul, and kept it safely in his jacket pocket. During those days when he was locked in his room for all hours of the day; he would sit there and read every single word; imagining her speaking the same words.

"Kyle, it's time for school…you ready?" Lily said, interrupting him.

"Yeah. I-I'll be right there." He said. He put the letter in his pocket.

When they got to school other people were wary of him. His in-school suspension was lifted after four days due to special circumstances. But that didn't mean he was completely off the hook. Kyle had to apologize for breaking his nose.

He finally entered the choir room with Lily and found it covered in tiger lilies. Cass, Andres, Alex and Becca were in the corner singing 'The Second Star To The Right'. Kyle became so welled up with emotion he didn't know whether to cry or hug Lily.

"W-what is this?"

"We wanted to give you the funeral you though Pearl should have." Joe said.

It was perfect, but Kyle ran out. He couldn't do it. He couldn't say goodbye. He wasn't ready to. Tears began flowing down his face.

"Well that was a bust…" Nathan said.

"Nathan." Maya snapped.

"Sorry, but actions speak louder than words… he just ran out and didn't say a thank you."

Maya stormed off to find Kyle. When she finally did, it was an all to familiar scene for her. He was on the floor in an empty classroom, crumpled, trying his hardest to hold back tears. Trying and failing.

"Kyle, are you alright?"

"I will be."

"Do you want to ditch and go somewhere else? We'd all understand if you did…"

"No. She'd want me there…I just don't want to be alone anymore and I feel like no matter how hard I try, I'm never going to be happy again." The letter fell out of his jacket.

"You don't need to be happy right away. It's going to take some time to get over this, but you will. And you are never alone. I told you I will always be here for you, and I meant it." She said as Kyle picked up the letter. She saw this and didn't say a word about it.

"What's that?" Matt asked, pointing at the letter. It was an innocent question, but Kyle decided not to hide behind tears anymore.

"It's a letter…"

"Well that's obvious…" Alison said grabbing it from him

"You can open it if you want."

"Thank god for that…" Alison began to do so…

"It's from Oma." Alison paused at this. Joe shot her a glare. This was not the time for her mean girl antics.

"You can read it if you want…" He said, as Maya grabbed it from her. He didn't want Alison to read it. He wanted Maya to read it. Usually Alison would do it anyways but this was Kyle's day. He didn't need her bitchy drama. "Read it out…"

"Dear Billy…"

"Who the hell is Billy?"

"She used to call me Billy when I was a little kid. She gave this to me to read when I was 18. But I couldn't wait. Read it out Maya…"

"Dear Billy, I'm sorry I couldn't be there for your 13th birthday. And when you read this I will have been long gone…and it will have been a long…"

"Long time" Kyle finished as Maya choked back some tears. Kyle began singing

And I will have missed you growing,

And I'll have missed you crying

And I'll have missed you laugh.

Missed your stomping and your shouting,

I'll have missed telling you off,

But please Billy,

Know that I was always there.

I was with you through everything.

And please, Billy...

Kyle's face faultered. He couldn't finish it; Pearl had had cancer for years before she died. She never told Kyle because she wanted him to be happy and not mourn for her too much.

But please, Billy

Know that I will always be

Proud to have known you

Proud that you were mine

Proud in everything

And you must promise me this, Billy

Kyle saw Pearl once again. She was the new Frankie, and she was here for a brief moment but she began singing with Maya but all Kyle heard was her voice.

In everything you do

Always be yourself, Billy

And you always will be true

She turned around and is about to leave and it is in this moment that Kyle blurred the lines between fantasy and reality and blurted out. "Don't go." To her.

Lily saw this and her heart broke because she realized that her brother saw Pearl as he saw Lily, like they were both real to him. She saw him take a seat and reach out to the air and realized that he can't let go as easily as everyone else. The even though he may have been the most conservative of the three of them, he was also the most vulnerable.

And I'll have missed you growing,

I'll have missed you crying

And I'll have missed you laugh.

Missed your stomping and your shouting,

I'll've missed telling you off,

But please, Billy,

Know that I was always there.

I was with you through everything.

Kyle hugged her and the rest of the glee club didn't care. Now they all realized what was happening and that Kyle was saying goodbye to his grandmother. Tears were streaming down everyone's faces No one could judge him, even if it looked insane.

And please, Billy,

Know that I will always be.

Proud to have known you.

Pearl pryed Kyle off of her and held hands and wiped the tears from his face as if to say everything was going to be okay.

Love you forever.

Pearl then begins to leave. Kyle rushes forward and repeats the same words she said to him. Pearl smiles and leaves.

Love you forever.

"Hey." Sydney said to Angelika, wiping tears from her eyes. It was an emotional day for all of them and she couldn't lose Angelika as a friend.

"Hi." She said shortly.

"Ang…I'm sorry."

"Me too."

"You were right about Jason…"

"What do you mean?"

"He was just using me. His real name is Tiago Fererra and he was here to spy on us."

"He's from a rival glee club, the SJW's."

"Worst glee club name ever…"

"He tried to get our setlist out of me."

"How did you find out

Sydney went to find Jason. When she found him, he was talking on a cell phone. Sydney only picked up a few words but she heard him say something suspicious.

"…they have no idea what's coming for them…"

"I know, I will be at glee club practice Gauri….Yes I will pick up your no foam extra say all natural vanilla bean skinny latte…."

She couldn't believe her ears. When he got off the phone, Sydney went up to Jason and slapped the shit out of him and walked off.

"Are we okay?"

"What's a few slaps between friends?" Angelika said before she smiled.

After school, the entire glee club went to the Sweeting place where Margot had given Jessica a few of Pearls recipes. So Jessica and Maya's Lola were all cooking while the glee club were having karaoke night in the basement.

At dinner, Lola brought in some eggs that looked like they were boiled.

"You know, I don't remember my Oma ever making boiled eggs. I think she was far too hoighty for that…"

"I know, I make them everyone grab one…" Lola said with a cunning grin.

"Oh god…Lola this isn't what I think it is…" Maya said as Alison shrieked.

"It's Balut. It's very good. First we pray, and then we eat…" Lola said as Maya buried her face in her hands.

"To Pearl." Jessica said.

"To Pearl" Everyone chimed back.

"Right, I want everyone up bright and early at school tomorrow, we have a competition to destroy" Mrs. Clarke said. The Note-Worthy cheered and proceeded to eat.
