Episode[]

"So did you two talk?"

"Not yet, Nathan." Zach said down the phone. He paced around his room telling Nathan the vague details of his talk with Joe.

"He doesn't know about us, right?"

"Nathan, there is no us. I'm still with him. I just need time." Zach responded.

"You're right. Well, I've got some work to do so I'll see you tomorrow."

Zach put the phone down and fell back onto his bed. He stared at the ceiling for some time before picking his phone up and looking through his photos. Countless selfies of himself and Joe were the latest on his camera roll. Although he was unsure of what he wanted from the relationship he did genuinely miss how it was before.

"I'm such an idiot."

Meanwhile at Joe's house he and his Mother were sat in her study talking. Lily entered the house after a visit with Maya and Angelika. She put her bag away and she could hear Joe and his Mother talking. She crept just outside the door and put her ear to it.

"So you'll do it tomorrow?" Joe asked.

"Yes. It needs to happen. It's the best thing for her." His Mother responded.

Lily heard Joe get up and shot away from the door.

"Oh hey." Joe smiled, "When did you get in?"

"Just." She responded, a bit on edge, "I've just got in."

Lily was put off from what she heard, what if they were talking about her? What if they were planning on kicking her out? A million things started to swirl around in her head until Joe interrupted her thoughts.

"Let's go upstairs, Regionals is next week and we should start putting together some simple choreography." He suggested, Lily nodded and followed.

"How did your talk with Zach go?" She asked as they walked up.

"Uh, it was kinda weird. Nothing was really brought out into the open. He just danced around issues and stuff. I think I need to do something about it though..." Joe explained. The two reached Joe's bedroom and got changed into more active gear. Lily had to bite her tongue on what she knew. After 30 minutes of dancing the two went back downstairs for a well deserved drink.

"Joe... I have to tell you something." She said, she clenched her fists. "The other day Zach told me something..."

Joe looked at her, the expressions on her face meant that she wasn't going tell him something as trivial as her being out of time during the dancing or that Maya can hit higher notes than her. This was serious. But he lowkey knew what she was going to say.

"Zach told me that..."

"He cheated." Joe finished. Lily looked up at him, her eyes widened in horror.

"How did-"

"I'm not stupid. It had to be something he did. If it was something I did Zach would get angry and in this situation he was vulnerable. He started off by being really apologetic and honestly... as soon as he started with that I knew."

"Joe I'm so sorry." Lily said walking around the kitchen island and hugging him.

"Do you know who it was with?" Joe asked, Lily wanted so desperately to lie but she couldn't.

"Nathan."

Joe closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "You know, I'm feeling tired. Why don't we call it a night?" Joe grabbed his water bottle and ran upstairs. Lily watched him, saddened.

"Shit." She said to herself.

Later that night Joe was lying in bed, the room was pitch black. He was laid on his side facing away from the door. Just staring into nothing. He heard the door open and the crack of light came through. The door then closed and Lily slowly climbed into his bed and hugged him. Not a word was spoken but the friendship was all around.

The next morning Lily and Joe walked into school. They could see Zach and Nathan talking up ahead. Joe decided that he needed to do something now. Lily tightened her hold on his hand and the two walked up to Nathan and Zach. Joe was about to say something when Mrs. Clarke approached and urged the quartet to get to glee club immediately. The four followed her into the room where the others were waiting.

"Okay guys, I've got an important announcement for you all." She smiled, she picked up her board marker and wrote "Togetherness" in huge writing on the board.

"I got the email this morning. Our Regionals theme is Togetherness."

"Why are you so excited?" Cass asked, "This group's worst attribute is togetherness. We're not that sort of group."

Mrs. Clarke smiled, "Look, whilst that's true to some extent I've seen what you can do when you're synergy is there. You can all gel together when you really work at it."

"But look at us." Cass said getting up. "There's clearly tension here." She said pointing to the quartet of Lily, Joe, Zach, and Nathan. "There's something going on there." She pointed to Sydney and Alison. Sydney was looking like she was on the verge of passing out and Alison's eyes hadn't left Nathan since he entered the room. "I don't know what's going on there." She pointed to Kyler, Jackie, Perry, and Becca who were sat at the back of the room. "I don't even think you all know their names."

The group all knew deep down that she was right. This group has a lot of togetherness in smaller groups but being there for each other as a whole wasn't their strongest element.

"In fact the only people in here who show any sort of synergy or togetherness is those two." She pointed to Maya and Matt who were strangely sat right at the back. Maya was leaning against Matt and the two were disgustingly making out and being all cute.

"Look." Mrs. Clarke said, "For Regionals I want the opening song to be a duet. A love song. This afternoon any and all couples within in the group can participate in the song. Whoever gives me the most convincing performance will get to do the duet."

The group all murmured between themselves. Matt and Maya were obviously taking part. Zach looked excited but Joe wasn't sure. Alison began hatching a plan inside of her head.

"Well, there's the bell." Mrs. Clarke announced. "Off you go and remember I want to see togetherness from you all."

As Nathan left the room Alison ran to catch up to her. "Nathan, wait up."

"Yeah?" He turned around to face her. Alison thought he was looking particularly cute today.

"Are those tubes?" Alison asked as Nathan inserted them.

"What do you want?" Nathan rolled his eyes, the two walked to his locker.

"Am I that obvious?" Alison asked.

Nathan nodded. "Look, in two years its the Junior Prom. I want to be the Queen of said prom."

"Your point?"

"You're going to be my king." Alison smirked.

"Oh, I thought I made it clear that we aren't-"

"We aren't going to be together. But we are going to be together." Alison replied.

Nathan shook his head in confusion. "What?"

"You're going to be my beard, so to speak. We can get all of the votes if we just convince the people in this crap shack that we're a loving couple. Starting with this couples duet. We're going to deliver a convincing performance to these suckers. I know we have a lot of weird history but consider all of it gone. From this point on we're a brand new couple."

Nathan thought for a while. Being prom king would make people look at him differently. Plus having Alison on his side when the glee club inevitably turn each other would be a benefit.

"Okay fine."

"Great. But one rule; no lusting after Lily and her massive teeth in front of people. It makes me look bad."

"I'm not into Lily." Nathan replied with a nervous laugh. Alison began to walk away. "Oh that's right you're into Zach."

Nathan's eyes widened in shock, she knew and that means Nathan was now her property. "Damn it." He slammed his locker and left.

Alison walked down the hallway of the school. "Ah look at me. Back to being the pinnacle of charitable contributions. Dating the guy with cystic fibrosis. Not being mean to Lily. I'm truly turning over a new leaf. Nothing can turn me into a bitch again-" Her inner monologue was interrupted by one Miss Alyssa Fowble breezing passed her arm. She raised her arms and slammed Alyssa against her locker. "Don't touch me, you Beatle wannabe."

Further on down the corridor Lily and Kyle were stood talking with Maya and Matt.

"So are you two official now?" Lily asked eagerly.

"Well I guess so." Maya smiled at Matt who smiled back. "We're gonna snatch that duet, right babe?"

"Right." Matt smiled back at her, although his tone changed when he saw Alison walking towards them.

"Oh look, if it isn't the cast of the Undateables." She said with a friendly tone.

"What do you want?" Lily rolled her eyes.

"Can't I even say hello to my chums without having an ulterior motive?" Alison asked, pretending to be shocked.

"No." Lily gave a fake smile back.

"I gotta go now." Maya said. "See you all later." She kissed Kyle on the cheek. "Are you sure you're gonna be alright Will?"

Kyle smiled, "Of course Grace." Maya smiled and walked off.

"You know you two call each other Will and Grace but you're more like Karen and Rosario. The alcohol who's followed everywhere by the foreign immigrant."

"Did you actually want something or did you come here to insult us?" Kyle asked.

"Actually I came to ask Maya could I borrow Matt but since she's gone I guess I'll just be taking him." She grabbed Matt by the arm and walked away. Kyle and Lily just watched them.

"So... are you coming back to the house tonight?" Kyle asked.

"Huh? Why would I?" Lily replied.

"Well technically it's your home. We're brother and sister. It's your home as well."

"No Kyle, let me stop you there." Lily said putting her hand up. "The day Buffy gave me up was the day she lost the right to call me a daughter. It was the day her children lost the right to call me their sibling. I love you Kyle but no, I'm not being apart of your family. I've got myself and that's all I need."

"But-"

"Kyle. No." Lily kindly put her hand on his shoulder and walked away. He sighed and went to his class.

Meanwhile in Maths Joe had to step out to the Nurses office. He walked into the office, expecting no one else to be there.

"Hey I'm here to take my pills." Joe smiled at the Nurse.

"Take a seat over there, I'll be with you shortly." She asked. Joe turned around to see none other than Nathan sat in the area, too.

"Ugh, it's you." Nathan sighed, "Don't sit too close I don't want to catch whatever it is that makes you a massive cunt."

"You know what. That's it." Joe said, throwing his bag down. "Just where do you get off talking to people that way?"

"I can do what I want." Nathan replied, with a smug look. It took every ounce of Joe's strength not to smack him there and then.

"Yeah, that's true. But surely you must feel some sort of remorse for being that vile towards people. You barely know me yet you've done nothing but speak to me like that since we met. I get that you don't like me but stop talking to me like I'm nothing. Aren't you tired of always being angry at people. And the world."

Nathan looked down for a while, "You don't know what it's like to have something so obvious that it makes you a target for the world so can it."

"I don't know what it feels like?" Joe spat. "Look at me. I think it's pretty hard to miss that I'm gay."

"But that's your choice. You can just dumb yourself down and make yourself look like a typical guy rather than wearing designer clothes and being different. Our situations are nothing alike." Nathan replied.

Joe sighed, he opened his bag and took out a picture. He gave it to Nathan. "That was me 2 years ago. That guy next to me? My best friend in middle school. I was a typical guy. I told him I was gay, he told the entire school so my mum moved us to this area. He's the reason for my massive trust issues and why I don't let anyone in easily and I vowed that I would start this school being myself. My true self. Whilst it does make me a target, the pain I feel from that is a lot less than what I felt from being trapped. When I came out I felt a weight lift off me. You need to do the same. You need to cast of this bitchy, venomous façade and start being the charming guy we know you can be. You can still have a guard up, hell we don't even have to be friends. Just stop being so awful."

Nathan sat silent for a while, both of them did. Nathan thought for a while. Joe did have a point. If he did get rid of his old self he could be happy. Nathan didn't particularly enjoy being this dark and cut off. He knows that he would always have a support system in the glee club if things did get too much.

"Hey.. Joe, what pills do you take? I couldn't help but here when you came in."

"Depression and anxiety. When that whole event happened it messed me up. But I managed to beat it."

The nurse came over and handed Joe his pills. He took them and began to leave.

"One more question." Nathan said before Joe left. "Why are you trying to break through to me?"

"I just want to get a better understanding of you." He replied.

"Why?"

"So I can understand why you did it." He ominously said, he then left.

"Oh no." Natha panicked as he furiously grabbed his phone from his pocket and began texting Zach.

It was now time for the second glee club lesson and the group scrambled into the room. Nathan was the last one to walk into the room. He saw Joe and Lily front and center with Zach to Joe's right. Maya and Matt in the middle of the second row with Angelika and Kyle next to them. Alison and Sydney sat on the edge of the middle row with Becca behind them and Cass, Perry, and Jackie next to her. Kyler was sat on his own, sprawled on the back row directly behind Kyle. Nathan looked for a seat and saw Alison urging him to sit near her. He chose to, rather than sitting next to Zach and causing world war III.

"Okay, is everyone here?" Mrs. Clarke asked. "Great, now which couples woul-"

"Mrs. Clarke, before you begin. May I say something?" Alison said in an unusually sweet tone.

"Of course." She smiled.

Alison rose to her feet, her sweet demeanour vanishing instantly.

"You, hairline, up." She said meaning Kyler. He pointed to himself in a dumb way and stood up.

"Out." She continued.

"What?" He responded, confused.

"Duh what." She mimicked in a dumb voice. "You heard me. Get out. This is a family in here. Everyone who is here is here because they want to be. They add something. You don't. So get out." She gestured him to the door. Kyler looked at Mrs. Clarke and then at the rest of the group. They all awkwardly looked away except Mrs. Clarke who was shocked but didn't object. Kyler grabbed his bag and walked out. "You'll pay for this." He murmured on his way out.

"Back to you." Alison smiled, and said in her sweet tone once again, to Mrs. Clarke.

"Okay, well, whatever couples want to take the floor and perform." She smiled. Matt and Maya got up and stood in the middle of the choir room.

"Well we're not letting this walking benetton ad take all the spotlight." Alison said getting up, she took Nathan's hand and led him to the middle of the room. The group required in a series of gasps and "oh my god."

"Come on." Zach quietly said to Joe. Joe refused and shook his head. "Oh come on, it'll be fun." Zach cheered and pulled Joe up from his seat.

"Okay, so that's our couples?" Mrs. Clarke asked, "Great. Hit it!"

Maya and Alison (Matt):
Eva, eva, eva (Uh)
Oh, eva, eva, eva
(Maya, baby)
Oh, eva, eva, eva
(Let's go)
Oh, everlasting love
(Another one)

Joe:

I been thinking about you daily
I can't wait to see your face

Zach:
I don't even know you but I know that I can't wait to kiss you
Somehow I know when we finally lock eyes that you'll feel the same way

Joe and Zach sang to each other but it was obvious that it was fabricated. Zach was trying but Joe was just out of love for this relationship. Lily could see it in his face that he was done.

Matt:
You're gonna be all I've needed
You make me feel like a dream
Whoever you are
Baby, you are
The one I'm waiting for

Maya:
You're my ever- everlasting love
My ever- everlasting love
And I'm never ever giving up til your laying next to me

Matt:
I'm lookin' for that ever- everlasting love
Forever ever kind of touch

Baby, we were meant to be

Mrs. Clarke was impressed with Maya and Matt. They showed excellent chemistry and it seemed like a simple few week relationship had been going on for years. They had complete in trust in each other and it showed.

Joe:
Ain't no use in wastin' my time on just anybody, baby
I want exceptional, original someone I can't deny

Maya:

But I hope you save all you got for me
Cause baby you're all mine
(Matt: All mine)

Nate (and Alison):
You're gonna be all I've needed
You make me feel like a dream
(Whoever you are)
(Baby, you are)
The one I'm waiting for

The group couldn't help feel that this relationship was somewhat forced but the two had good chemistry and were enjoying themselves.

Nate:
You're my ever- everlasting love
My ever- everlasting love
And I'm never ever giving up til your laying next to me

Nate and Alison:
I'm lookin' for that ever- everlasting love
Forever ever kind of touch
And I'll never ever get enough
Baby, we were meant to be

Maya:
Everlasting love
Everlasting love
Everlasting love
My everlasting love

Joe (Maya):
I don't even know your name (Uh)
But I can't get you off my brain (No, no)
Darling, I can hardly wait
Til I can get to know you

Alison:
You'll be beautifully insane (Oo, oo, oo)
Infinitely all for me (For me)
Promise you'll (be) glad you came
I can't wait to show you

Joe with Zach, Maya, and Matt (Alison):
You're my ever- everlasting love (Nate: You're my ever)
My ever- everlasting love (Lasting love)
And I'm never ever giving up til your laying next to me
I'm lookin' for that ever- everlasting love (Ever, ever)
Forever ever kind of touch (Oo oo)
And I'll never ever get enough
Baby, we were meant to be (Alison: We were meant to be!)

Everlasting love (Nate: My love)
Everlasting love (Nate: My everlasting love)
Everlasting love (Nate: Yeah-eah)
My everlasting love

As the song finished the others applauded them.

"Alright I've made my decision... Maya and Matt. You'll be opening Regionals for us. Feel free to sing a duet that represents your love. That shows you're together." Maya and Matt blushed and thanked her. Alison rolled her eyes but couldn't help but feel glad for Matt who she liked a lot. She looked at Nathan who she expected to make a vile comment but instead he just smiled. Whilst the group all talked among themselves the school receptionist ducked in and whispered something to Mrs. Clarke who left the room briefly. The group all began to quieten down as she re-entered.

"Kyle..." She said, "There's someone here to see you." Mrs. Clarke said opening the door all the way. Kyle's eyes widened as his parents walked in.

"Oh my god." Alison quietly said to Sydney and Becca. "That's the head cunts themselves."

"Kyle we need to speak with you." Buffy said walking into the room. "Please step outside."

Kyle took a deep breath, he knew whatever happened after this he wouldn't be alone. "No, Mom. You're going to say what you need to say here."

"Don't use that tone with your Mother." His Dad said, stepping forward.

"You don't get to talk." Kyle said putting his hand in his Dad's face. The group were shocked. Kyle hadn't been this strong in a long time.

"Fine." Buffy said, clutching her purse. "Public schools make me so nervous." She whispered to Eugene, her husband.

"I want you out of the house. Myself, Margot and Eugene have been talking and we've decided that since we're back from vacation early that we want you out of our house. We're cutting you off. From this moment you're no longer an Ogilvie. You brought common gutter trash into our house which we made you remove. You continue with this homosexual lifestyle and we simply cannot allow you to progress as an Ogilvie. We're smart enough to know you won't change so we're getting rid of you." She explained. The room fell silent. Kyle just stared at his parents. Joe and Lily had hold of each others hands. Alison and the girls were gobsmacked. Nathan and Zach were sat looking at each other in shock.

"Thank you." Kyle said, breathing life into the room. "I could never have done that. But now you have. You've released me. Thank you."

"You can keep whatever is in your bank account but we want everything from the house that is yours gone. From your immense scarf collection to your collection of faggy movies." Eugene added.

"Hey!" Mrs. Clarke shouted, walking over to him. "Don't use that word here. This is a safe zone for anyone hurt by that word. And as a teacher, no - as a human being. I will not stand for snobby trash like yourself speaking to my students like that." Buffy and Eugene turned around to leave.

"You might as well leave." Lily said getting up. "You already abandoned one child. I guess this time around it wasn't that easy." Buffy turned back around, clutching her stole.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me... Mom" Lily said, her face void of emotion. "We know all about your secret."

Buffy and Eugene's faces were a picture. By this point the entire club was floored because of the gag worthy tea being spilt.

"No way." Alison whispered in shock.

"Lily..." Joe warned. "Be careful with this."

"So Mom and Dad, watch yourselves. Because you may be comfortable in that massive mansion with your millions but I'm coming to ruin it." Lily smiled. She was dark. A new colour for her but it was fitting for this situation.

Buffy and Eugene marched out of the room as fast as they could. The whole group then turned to Kyle.

"How are you?" Lily asked, her tone going back to her usual caring one.

"I'm..." Kyle sighed. "Good. I'm good. I-I don't know what I'm going to do but for once in my life I feel good... I feel free. I honestly feel like my life can begin." He went into his bag and pulled out two bottles of vodka and one of rum. He instantly hurled the three at the wall.

"Oh I'm not looking forward to explaining that." Mrs. Clarke sighed. But she looked at Kyle, he had a new air about him.

"I'm free!" Kyle cheered. Joe and Lily hugged him. Then Maya and Angelika. Matt, Zach, and Nathan joined with the others joining in after.

"Togetherness." Mrs. Clarke smiled to herself.

It was now lunch and Joe met up with Zach in the auditorium after he text Zach asking to meet.

"I think we need to talk." Joe sternly said walking down the stairs.

"But we already spoke yesterday?" Zach asked.

"Oh my god will you just STOP." Joe yelled. "You've had your chance to come clean on your own terms but you didn't. You continued lying to me."

"Joe I-"

"No. I'm taking a page out of Kyle's book and being the strong one here. My entire life before I came to this school I was weak. I would let people into my life and they would walk all over me. I vowed never to let it happen here. But you were different. You were persistent. You made it seem like you wanted to be apart of my life. So I stupidly let you in and just like the rest you broke my heart. But the one difference is that you were my first love. The others who broke my heart were only friends. You mean more to me... Well you meant more to me, I should say. But now you're just like the rest."

"Joe... I don't have anything to say except that I'm sorry..."

"I don't even care about the Nathan of it all. Just the fact you took my trust and betrayed it." Joe replied. He got up but Zach grabbed his hand. Joe didn't look back at him. He just took his hand away and walked out. "I thought we would last." He said to himself, a few tears running down his cheek.

Joe:
You took my hand
You showed me how
You promised me you'd be around
Uh huh
That's right,

Joe walked down the corridor and looked through his phone at old texts that Zach sent him. The scene then cut to Kyle who was at home sorting through his things.

Kyle:
I took your words
And I believed
In everything
You said to me
Yeah huh
That's right

As he sung he began packing his important things. Making sure to leave photos of his family behind. He was free and happy, but couldn't help feel a little sad. He reached the liquor cabinet where he stored his important documents, he took them. He held a bottle of vodka in his hand.

If someone said three years from now
You'd be long gone
I'd stand up and punch them out
Cause they're all wrong
I know better
Cause you said forever
And ever
Who knew

Joe:
Remember when we were such fools
And so convinced and just too cool
Oh no
No no
I wish I could touch you again
I wish I could still call you friend
I'd give anything

Joe was now at home in his room lying on his bed.

When someone said count your blessings now
'fore they're long gone
I guess I just didn't know how
I was all wrong
They knew better
Still you said forever
And ever
Who knew

The scene cuts to Zach who is in his Dad's car staring at old texts from Joe until a notification pops up from Nate saying "Are you okay? (h)"

Yeah yeah

Kyle (Joe):
I'll keep you locked in my head (My head)
Until we meet again (Meet again)
Until we
Until we meet again

Kyle took the bottle of vodka and launched it at the wall. In a rage he shoved his entire arm across the cabinet smashing each and every bottle of alcohol that was there.

Joe:
And I won't forget you my friend
What happened

Kyle and Joe:
If someone said three years from now
You'd be long gone
I'd stand up and punch them out
(Joe: Yeah, yeah)
Cause they're all wrong and

Joe:
That last kiss
I'll cherish
Until we meet again
And time makes
It harder
I wish I could remember

Joe was now in his kitchen looking at a specific photo of him and Zach from one of their first ever dates.

Kyle:
But I keep
Your memory

Kyle was walking up the driveway of someone's house burning a photo of him and his Mother from when he was a child. It wasn't exactly a heartfelt photo. His Mother in bed with his cradle like 300 ft away.

Kyle and Joe:
You visit me in my sleep

Joe:
My darling
My darling
I miss you
My darling
Who knew

Kyle and Joe:
Who knew

As the song came to an end Joe opened the door to Kyle who entered the house. Lily and Joe's Mother came as well.

"Hey." Joe smiled and hugged his friend, Lily hugged him too.

"How are you, dear?" Jessica asked. "I'm good."

"Well your room is all set up. Feel free to stay as long as you need." His Mother smiled. She walked away and muttered to herself. "Any more strays and I'll be having the entire glee club here."

The three spent the night gossiping and bitching about people. They watched movies, mostly musicals and planned ideas for Regionals.

"I think we should have an originals number." Lily suggested. Kyle and Joe lit up at the idea. "I've text Angelika and she's in."

"What about Maya?" Kyle asked.

"She said she'd rather not since she's in the duet. But she's all for us being out there as a quartet and uniting and such." Lily explained. The boys agreed and they began developing their idea.

4 DAYS LATER: Friday - Regionals

The group were in the choir room warming up and getting ready. Joe was by the piano with Angelika, Kyle, Cass, Jackie and Perry making sure every part of their voice was warmed up. Lily was sat getting her hair ready with Alison and Becca helping her. Nathan and Zach were warming up physically whilst Maya and Matt practised their harmonies and movements. Sydney was sat down just trying to stay awake and alert. She took an ice cold bottle of water and downed it, making sure she was up. She walked around shaking her arms and legs and putting the finishing touches to her make up.

"Is she okay?" Zach asked Nathan who just looked concerned, as did Angelika.

"I don't know." Nathan trailed off. Joe couldn't help but look at Zach and Nathan who were stretching together. Zach didn't seem to be affected at all. He was glad that Nathan's attitude had changed recently, however.

"Okay guys gather round." Mrs. Clarke said entering the room. The group stood in a circle around her.

"Now it's been a rough year but if we can get through this then you will have proved that you can be a team. A proper team. Working together and supporting each other. In these few short months I've seen you blossom from guarded little twats to mature, supporting young ladies and gentlemen." She explained. The group all laughed among each other. "Now let's go out there and WIN!" The group did a group hug and went to the auditorium.

The Note-Worthys were last but they weren't bothered. They sat and watched one group perform a massive gymnastic-backed up medley of Beyonce's entire discography whilst the other group did a tribute to Michael Jackson.

"Okay... they just did tributes to the biggest performers ever... we can still do this." Angelika commented.

"Of course we can." Alison smiled.

As the Note-Worthys took to the stage Maya and Matt took the center with Joe, Lily, Angelika, Kyle, Jackie, Becca and Perry backing them up. Alison, Sydney, Nathan, Zach, and Cass were preparing for their song.

Maya (with the Note-Worthy Girls):
Baby, I got love for thee
So deep inside of me
I don't know where to start
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

Maya (The Note-Worthy Girls):
I love you more than anything
But the words can't even touch what's in my heart
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
No, no
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Oh!

Maya stepped forward with the girls backing her up doing an amazing routine. The spotlight then lit up the other side of the stage for the boys.

Matt (Maya):
I know, I know
When I compliment her she won't believe me
And it's so, it's so
Sad to think that she don't see what I see
But every time she asks me, "Do I look okay?"
I say (Baby I)
(Oh, baby I...)

Matt stepped forwards with the boys doing a #swagtastic routine and catching up to Maya and the girls. As the song reached the chorus the group coupled up and the routine changed from a hot R&B number to a more ballroom-feel as Just the Way You Are's chorus gave them that chance.

Matt and Maya with the Note-Worthys:
When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
'Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile
The whole world stops and stares for a while
'Cause, girl, you're amazing
Just the way you are
Yeah,

The couples left each other as Baby I kicked back in and Maya gave a sensual performance on her own.

Maya (The Note-Worthy Girls):
When I try to explain it I be sounding all crazy
Words don't ever come out right
I get all tongue-tied and twisted
I can't explain what I'm feeling
And I say Baby, baby (oh, whoa, oh, whoa)
Baby

Matt (Maya):
Oh you know, you know, you know
I'd never ask you to change
If perfect's what you're searching for
Then just stay the same
So don't even bother asking if you look okay
You know I'll say (All I'm tryna say is)

The two met in the middle and acted cute with each other. Joe and Lily noted that the judges were cooing and smiling at the two whilst jotting down notes.

Maya:
Baby I!

Matt:
Think that it's so sexy...

Maya:
Straight up you got me
All in, how could I not be,
I sure hope you know (Matt: I sure hope you know)
If it's even possible, I love you more
Than the word love can say it
It's better not explaining
That's why I keep saying...

Matt:
Baby I! (Maya: You're amazing, just the way you are)

Matt and Maya:
You're amazing...
Just the way...
You are...

As the song came to an end several stage hands placed 5 microphone stands on the stage. The next song started and Alison walked up to the middle microphone dressed in a beautiful black gown with gold accessories to match the gold lighting.

Alison:
There are times I find it hard to sleep at night
We are living through such troubled times
And every child that reaches out for someone to hold
For one moment they become my own

Sydney then walked up to the second microphone stand. Her dress having a big slit in it so she can show leg. Her golden accessories glittered with her eyes.

Sydney:
And how can I pretend that I don’t know what’s going on?
When every second of every minute another soul is gone

Cass joined them in a two piece outfit consisting of a high waisted skirt and a crop top and a black bow in her hair.

Cass (Alison and Sydney):
And I believe that in my life I will see
(Oh yeah)
An end to hopelessness
Of giving up
Of suffering
(Yeah!)

Zach joined with a microphone in his hand. He and Nate both had identical black tuxedos on that matched the girls' formal ensemble.

Zach (with Alison):
Then we all stand together this one time
Then no one will get left behind
And (stand up) for life
(Stand up) and hear me sing
(Stand up) for love

Nate:
I'm inspired and hopeful each and everyday
That's how I know that things are gonna change

So how can I pretend that I don’t know what’s going on?
When every second of every minute
Another soul is gone

Nate with the Note-Worthys (Alison and Sydney):
And I believe that in my life I will see
(I will see, yeah yeah)
An end to hopelessness
(Hopelessness)
Of giving up
(Giving up)
Of suffering
(Suffering, yeah)

The five of them made sure to give it their all and really communicate the message of the song. Meanwhile backstage Joe watched Zach perform and Lily clutched onto him for support.

Zach (Cass):
If we all stand (stand) together this one time
(Time)

Zach with Nate and Alison (Cass and Sydney):
Then no one will get left behind
Stand up for life (Life)
Stand up for love

As the song reached its climax the group began walking towards the front of the stage with the back of the stage now being completely black.

Sydney:
And it all starts right here
And it starts right now
One person stand up
And the rest will follow

Alison:
For all the forgotten
For all the unloved

Alison with Sydney and Cass:
I'm gonna sing this song

Cass:
And I believe that in my life I will see
An end to hopelessness
Of giving up
Of suffering

As the big part of the song started the back of the stage lit up with the rest of the Note-Worthys joining in the song with Alison being front and center.

Alison with the Note-Worthys:
If we all stand together this one time
Then no one will get left behind

The Note-Worthys:
Stand up (Alison: For life)
Stand up (Sydney: And sing)
Stand up (Cass: For love)

Nate:
For love

Zach:
For love

The song finished and the audience roared in applause. Suddenly the atmosphere changed. The high class outfits were gone. The boys were wearing muscle shirts and drop crotch joggers whilst the girls wore black leotards, fishnet stockings and knee high boots. Joe, Angelika, Kyle, and Lily all donned black hooded cloaks and the stage was filled with artificial rain to set the mood.

Kyle:
I'd cross a desert and an ocean
To get away from the pain of your storm
I chased the sun light, been running from your shadow
So that I could heal and I didn't feel

As Kyle's part ended the stage flashed and a spotlight hit Lily.

Lily:
That zig-zag shooting through my heart
That zig-zag hit me like a dart
Electricity, electricity
Oh, this love's tearing me apart
I been running like the light from the dark
Electricity keeps on hitting me

Angelika:
Oh, lightning strikes twice
And it burns like ice
I wish I didn't love you again
Lightning strikes twice
And it burns so nice
I wish I didn't love you,

As the beat drop came the entire group broke out in a massive dance break with the audience roaring in response.

The Note-Worthys:
But I do
But I do

Joe:
Those eyes, one look and I'm enchanted
Your voice a serenade, and it sings to my heart
One kiss, turned the skies to gray
I'll never get away, no shelter from the rain, oh

As Joe sung he became very mysterious. The song's mood enveloped him and it took over.

Angelika:
That zig-zag shooting through my heart
That zig-zag hit me like a dart
Electricity, electricity
Oh, this love's tearing me apart
I been running like the light from the dark
Electricity keeps on hitting me
Oh, woah!

Joe (with the Note-Worthys):
Oh, lightning strikes twice
And it burns like ice
I wish I didn't love you again
Oh, (lightning) strikes twice
And it burns so nice
I wish I didn't love you,

The Note-Worthys:
But I do
But I do

As the bridge of the song came the four singers met in the middle for a marching type dance break.

Joe and Lily:
O Fortuna
Velut luna
Statu variabilis
Semper crescis
Aut decrescis
Vita detestabilis

Joe and Lily with Angelika and Kyle (Kyle):
Every time that I hear your name, (Oh-oh-oh-oh)
Baby, you're the pleasure, the pain
(Yeah!)

Joe:
Oh, lightning strikes twice
And it burns like ice
I wish I didn't love you again

As Joe hit the last note the entire stage lit up so the entire audience could see the final dance break featuring all of the members.

The Note-Worthys:
But I do
But I do

Angelika and Kyle:
O Fortuna
Velut luna
Statu variabilis
Semper crescis
Aut decrescis
Vita detestabilis

The Note-Worthys:
But I do

The audience applauded them and the three competing groups met on stage for the results. The Note-Worthys all clutched each others hands as the Michael Jackson group were announced third place. Joe and Lily's hands practically turned blue from the pressure. Unfortunately first place went to the group who performed the gymnastic-Beyonce routine.

The group met in the choir room all down hearted and sad.

"Wait, why are you guys sad?" Mrs. Clarke asked them, closing the door.

"Because we lost." Angelika replied.

"You came second. From where you were a few months ago that's a massive achievement. Next year we'll take Regionals and Nationals. You will be first place one year. But for now I want you to enjoy what you accomplished this year." The group all sat and smiled at her speech. She was right. A few months ago they were all fighting and cutting each other, now they're supporting each other and acting like a family.

As the group all left to get themselves ready for Joe's "wear only your pyjamas or nothing" sleepover, he only put that last bit in place in hopes of having some Regionals victory fun with Zach but it wasn't meant to be, Angelika and Nathan stayed behind.

"Nathan... can we talk?" Angelika asked, she was expecting a venom drenched response but she was surprised. "Sure." He smiled.

"I know we don't like each other and we don't agree on anything but there's something we do need to address." Angelika explained.

"Sydney's problem?" Nathan finished. Angelika nodded. "I thought so. So far only we know. I think we should watch her tonight and tell someone tomorrow." Nathan replied. Angelika smiled and nodded once again.

"See you at Joe's tonight?" She asked heading out the door. Nathan nodded and Angelika left.

Nathan stood up and walked around the choir room, carefully putting his tubes back in. He was glad he and Joe had a fight earlier on in the week. After spending a week not being awful to people for no reason he did feel better. He did keep a guard up but for now, the kids in the club with him were safe from his bile.

Meanwhile Kyle was laid on his bed in Joe's house just smiling to himself. He was free. No stress. He was finally free of his parents.

Kyle:
Clipped wings, I was a broken thing
Had a voice, had a voice but I could not sing
You would wind me down
I struggled on the ground
Oh,

Back in the choir room Nate was laid on the piano singing to himself.

Nate:
So lost, the line had been crossed
Had a voice, had a voice but I could not talk
You held me down
I struggle to fly now
Oh,

But there's a scream inside that we all try to hide
We hold on so tight, we cannot deny
Eats us alive, oh it eats us alive
Oh,

Kyle:
Yes, there's a scream inside that we all try to hide

Kyle with Nate (Kyle):
We hold on so tight, but I don't wanna die, (No)
I don't wanna die, I don't wanna die
(Oh!)

Nate:
And I don't care if I sing off key
I find myself in my melodies
I sing for love, I sing for me
I shout it out like a bird set free

Kyle:
No I don't care if I sing off key
I find myself in my melodies
I sing for love, I sing for me
I'll shout it out like a bird set free
Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah
I'll shout it out like a bird set free
Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah
I'll shout it out like a bird set free

Kyle got up and began to properly arrange his things. He felt like he had a home here. When he was at his Mansion he felt like a squatter but now he was in an actual home. With a fireplace and a parent always around and people that cared for him. The space and the butler was a sacrifice to feel like a human being again.

Nate:
Now I fly, hit the high notes
I have a voice, have a voice, hear me roar tonight
You held me down
But I fought back loud
Oh,

Kyle:
But there's a scream inside that we all try to hide
We hold on so tight, we cannot deny
Eats us alive, oh it eats us alive
Oh,

Yes, there's a scream inside that we all try to hide
We hold on so tight, but I don't wanna die, no
I don't wanna die, I don't wanna die
Oh!

Nate (Kyle):
And I don't care if I sing off key
I find myself in my melodies
I sing for love, I sing for me
I shout it out like a bird set free (Woah)
(Ah, woah!)
No I don't care if I sing off key
I find myself in my melodies
I sing for love, I sing for me
I'll shout it out like a bird set free

Kyle (Nate):
(Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah)
I'll shout it out like a bird set free
(Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah)
I'll shout it out like a bird set free
(Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah)
I'll shout it out like a bird set free
(Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah)
I'll shout it out like a bird set free
(Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah)
I'll shout it out like a bird set free
(Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah, Oh-oh woah)

A few hours had passed and the entire club was now in Joe's living room watching horror films. Lily had ducked out for a drink and Joe followed her.

Joe approached her in the kitchen and leant over the island.

"Hey.. you know I just realised that I've been pretty selfish this week." Joe mentioned. "You found out all this crap about being Kyle's sister and stuff but I just focused on myself and my drama."

"Joe, you had your heartbroken. I found out something that doesn't bother me at all." She laughed whilst pouring herself a coke.

"No, it does. You do so much for me. So, don't freak out... but here." Joe slid over a folder to her. Lily opened it and began to read. She dropped her coke and the smash echoed.

"Your Mum wants to adopt me?" She said, breathing heavily.

"Now Lily don't freak ou-" Joe said, but Lily had already wrapped her arms tightly around her new Brother-to-be.

"What happened?" Jessica asked hurrying into the kitchen with the entire glee club behind her.

Without saying a word Lily detached from Joe and clung onto Jessica. "Thank you" She whispered.

"No problem. We'll talk about it more in the morning. Right now I'm going to bed so keep it down." She laughed as she took her bottle of gin and left for bed.

"What's going on?" Angelika asked. Lily and Joe looked at each other. "Joe's Mum wants to adopt me!" She said to the group who all cheered in happiness for her. "Come on let's turn this off and get turnt." Lily laughed as she hooked her phone up to the speakers.

Lily:
Come on, come on, turn the radio on
It's Friday night and it won't be long
Gotta do my hair, put my makeup on
It's Friday night and it won't be long

Joe:
Til I hit the dance floor
Hit the dance floor
I got all I need
No I ain't got cash
I ain't got cash
But I got you baby

Maya (The Note-Worthy):
Baby I don't need dollar bills to have fun tonight
(I love cheap thrills)
Baby I don't need dollar bills to have fun tonight
(I love cheap thrills)

Angelika:
I don't need no money
As long as I can feel the beat
I don't need no money
As long as I keep dancing

Lily:
Come on, come on, turn the radio on
It's Saturday and it won't be long

Lily and Kyle:
Gotta paint my nails, put my high heels on
It's Saturday and it won't be long

Joe:
Til I hit the dance floor
Hit the dance floor
I got all I need

Kyle:
No I ain't got cash
I ain't got cash
But I got you baby

Baby I don't need dollar bills to have fun tonight
(Maya with the Note-Worthys: I love cheap thrills)

As long as I keep dancing

The Note Worthy Boys (The Note Worthy Girls):
